Sourcing Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Quickly get smart about Allegion’s key purchasing requirements, including how our commodity strategy aligns with broader business strategies

  • Collaborate with the wider supply management team to initiate, implement, and support sourcing activities that deliver best value

  • Prepare and conduct solicitations (RFI’s, RFQ’s) for and execute against high-dollar, high-risk, complex needs to support the commodity strategy.Identify opportunities for increased competitive bidding, smarter supplier relationships and more efficient supply chain processes.

  • Pro-actively conduct market analysis / benchmarking, track market trends and emerging technologies, and manage supplier performance.

  • Develop and manage supplier relationships, project portfolios and undertake supplier negotiations through relationship-building to maximize business benefits.

  • Facilitate commodity contract lifecycle management including price updates, supplier on-boarding and exit, inflation/deflation cost models, productivity idea generation, etc.

  • Provide customer support to manufacturing & distribution sites related to quality and delivery issues, forecasting, payment issues and other items as needed.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA with a strong academic record preferred; At least 5 years of work experience preferred

  • Prior experience in procurement/supplier management at a global public company. Demonstrated skills in rigorous, fact-based analyses that drive creative problem solving, proposal preparation, and negotiation

  • Strong leadership qualities including effective interpersonal, and project management skills

  • Persuasive written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong multi-tasking and organizational capabilities, with a high level of attention to detail

  • Commitment to continuous improvement, motivated ‘can-do’ attitude, and results-oriented

  • Team player with a positive attitude who can work with international teams
