Vectrus Shore Lead Engineer - MOC (FSET) in Naples, Italy
Act as senior technical advisor to support the Maritime Operations Center in Naples, Italy supporting shore Commander Naval Forces Europe (CNE)/Commander Sixth Fleet (C6F) and other commanders within the AOR. Conducts on site troubleshooting and maintenance assistance for problems that may cross multiple Navy systems, and provides training on the systems.Lead/coordinate troubleshooting with other shore and afloat Fleet Systems Engineers. Candidate will be responsible for daily operations of multiple C6F MOC systems to include advanced systems administration; network engineering; limited end-user support; requirements analysis, planning, systems integration, and engineering; and serves as a senior technical advisor to the N2/3/6 staff and MOC watch team. This position will be the subject matter expert for the GCCS-M and GCCS-J systems installed at the MOC.

Candidate will be responsible for supporting the Maritime Operations Center in Naples, Italy; supporting CNE/C6F and other shore and afloat units within the C6F AOR.Conducts on site troubleshooting and maintenance assistance for problems that may cross multiple Navy systems, provides training on the systems.Lead/coordinate troubleshooting with other shore and afloat Fleet Systems Engineers.
Networking support to C4I systems. Juniper/Alcatel/Cisco/VMWare
Coordinate repair of installed C4I systems and other advisory and systems engineering services;
Provide on-site engineering and technical support for the integration of IT hardware and software upgrades incorporated into the MOC.
Provide support for maintenance of the system hard ware and software, system architecture, configuration and systematic baseline to meet the site/node objectives; on-site support shall provide activity based technical and engineering support for web-based C2 applications and user access to those applications
Provide recommendations for alternative courses of action to more effectively utilize the suite of applications and systems to include COP management and network data flow with other joint/multi-national systems.
Support a fast paced operations environment. Ability to learn and provide recommendations for improvement or alternative networking strategies.
Assist in conducting preliminary network testing after integration and configuration of site upgrades and modifications;
Support Information Assurance, to include adherence to IA policies, operations of IA related systems to include HBSS configuration for C2 systems, CSI/CCRI support, and ACAS administration.
Provide support for restoral procedures; rapid response for emergent issues, and network documentation, along with review of security and audit logs & SOP’s.
Interacting with multiple shore and ship-based customer organizations will be required.

Less than 10% travel may be required

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Navy computer systems will be used primarily.
Candidate’s primary work will be inside Navy shore facilities at Naval Support Activity, Naples Italy. In order to provide required service to staff and fleet assets, work at times other than normal working hours may be required. While not routine, work in a shipboard environment may be required.
Personnel may be required to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Individual must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted and meet U.S. Navy medical requirements as detailed in COMUSFLTFORCOM/COMPACFLT 6320.3A.
Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
BS in Information Technology (or equivalent technical degree) or 12 years technical experience in related discipline required.Certification as IAT2 (per DoD Inst 8750.1 and Navy guidance) with IA and CE (Unix/Linux preferred) certification required.Certification in multiple operating systems highly desired.
Experience with Unix/Linux C2 systems and server virtualization required.

Experience with networking highly desired, Cisco or Juniper preferred.Total 8 years in C4I networking required, with recent experience with DoD Information Assurance/CND systems and policies such as Host Based Security System (HBSS) / Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) required.Experience implementing HBSS on C2 related systems highly desired. Experience in information assurance operations also required, including use of scanning tools and use of STIGs.
Network Certification preferred, with experience in server virtualization, systems administration (Unix and Windows) required.Knowledge of fleet communications architectures highly desired, with knowledge of military C2 architectures required.Must be able to communicate well both orally and in writing and have the ability to work with a team to resolve complex problems across multiple systems required. Must be able to communicate well with senior Navy/DOD officials and technical personnel.Candidate must be able to provide training as needed.
