Role Summary:

The internship in Avio Aero Engineering is a great opportunity for Engineering students or Post-Graduates who want to be part of a leading company in technology and innovation. We are looking for candidates who would be interested in a 6 month internship. Successful internship assignments may lead to EEDP program placement (after internal recruiting process).

Essential Responsibilities:

You will be assigned to a technical project within the Engineering Material System Department (EMS) and, more precisely in the Failure Analysis Laboratory. In this role you will:

  • Build technical knowledge expertise in aeronautical gearbox components and modules.

  • Follow Investigations on Failed components, returned from Field or Test, with the aim to define Failure Root Cause.You will achieve skills necessary to perform:

  • Defect evaluation on typical Gearbox Components - static and rotating parts

  • Visual Inspection at low magnification by Stereoscope Inspection

  • Metallurgical Investigation / Material Characterization: mount preparation and micrographic examinations by Optical Microscope Investigation

  • Fractographic Examination and Chemical Semi-Quantitative Analysis (EDS / EDAX) by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Undergraduate students who plan to be graduated within July 2018 or Master Degree Graduates in the following disciplines: Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering.

  • Outstanding University results - Top 25% class (final grade minimum 104/110 or GPA 3 out of 4).

  • Passion for technology, team player, process oriented, curious, flexible and open minded.

  • Good knowledge of English.

  • Fluency in Italian.

  • EU Work Permit. Desired Characteristics:
