We’re seeking a Director, Regional Financial Institution - Payments, based in our Rome office. In this role, you will be developing the Financial Institutions vertical across Southern Europe region for Western Union Payments division. Your goal will be to sell WU Payments value proposition to Financial Institutions, enabling them to offer cross-border payment services to their customers in over 130 currencies with beneficiaries located in 200 countries and territories.

  • Building and managing an FI sales pipeline from identification to closing of opportunities, achieving the assigned revenue targets

  • Develop and implement a Sales strategy that is consistent with the overall WU Payments Strategy

  • Collaborate with WU Payments regional sales team to leverage best practice, opportunity management and internal support required to deliver

  • Influence regional product prioritization and resource allocation to ensure that the FI strategy in the assigned region remains competitive and relevant to our customers

  • Comply with all corporate policies

  • Own the onboarding (hunt) and activation (farm) of each FI relationship ensuring KPI’s are met at each stage

What you will need to succeed:

  • Must hold a broad network of senior contacts in Financial Institutions in the required domain (international payments department or alike)

  • Significant progressive Sales experience within a global organization

  • Experience in selling services & technology to Financial Institutions and influencing C-suites and Boards

  • Experience working in Financial institutions and/or management consulting services would be a plus

What will make you stand out:

  • Excellent sales management and strategic account management skills

  • Excellent written English and verbal communication skills, report writing and presentation skills. Fluency in 2 out of French, Italian and Spanish.

  • Proven ability to navigate gate keepers to reach and influence C-Suite level relationships

  • Knowledge of international payments and foreign exchange products would be an advantage.

  • Thorough understanding of FI compliance requirements.

  • Worked and delivered to strict targets and objectives.
