Edwards Lifesciences Finance Manager Italy in Italy

Role Purpose

  • Manage a team and oversee all Financial aspects of Italy, including statutory booking and Corporate reporting, Budget, Forecasts, relationship with Internal & external auditors and interact with senior management.

  • Job Functions

  • Responsible to insure that accounting processes and practices are consistent with corporate financial policies and procedure (Local & US GAAP)

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of local statutory financial statements

  • Ensure proper calculation of country taxes

  • Manage Credit risks exposure

  • Lead efforts to optimize business processes and systems by assessing business needs and developing, proposing and implementing solution options.

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in financial processes in the area of responsibility. Define effective and efficient financial process workflow, including process modifications in partnership with stakeholders

  • Providing insightful analysis to drive continuous improvement and effective decision making

  • Oversee budgeting and forecasting process within the Entity for all divisions and departments

  • Lead financial improvement projects for local entity and participate to European and Corparate financials initatives.

  • Lead, coach and manage local finance team and develop local and regional partnering




  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 10 to 15 years of cumulated experience in a multi-national environment in industry.

  • Solid experience in several areas of Finance and Accounting along with strong system skills.

  • Proven successful project management and leadership skills

  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel, database tools (e.g., QlikView), financial systems, and ERP systems (e.g., JDE, SAP)

  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

  • Expert understanding of financial procedures while identifying applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to complex problems

  • Expert understanding of related aspects of financial processes and/or systems

  • Demonstrated ability to manage one or more teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations

  • Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of finance to the business

  • Strict attention to detail

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization

  • Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment

  • Frequently interacts with internal and external management and senior-level customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and/or contractual clarifications

  • Lead briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives

  • Require the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship

  • Dedicated to quality client service and pro-active and responsive to client needs.

  • Develop peer, cross functional and cross business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness.

  • Provide leadership and direction to large cross-functional teams to successfully implement global enterprise systems and related solutions

  • Develop relationships and leverage them to influence change

  • Support and solicit input from team members at all levels

  • Adhere to all EHS rules and requirements and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
